Why We're Building PARU
The story behind PARU: why an app for baby names and parenting knowledge came to be – and what drives us.

The idea for PARU didn't come from a market gap we identified. It came from a personal experience: the feeling that tools for expecting parents are either too simple or too cluttered.
The problem with name lists
There are hundreds of apps and websites for baby names. Most show you a list. You swipe. Maybe you can filter by first letter. Maybe by origin.
But what if you don't know what you're looking for? What if sound, associations, and meaning all play a role — and you need an app that understands that, rather than just showing you more names?
That was the starting point for PARU Baby Names.
Parenting knowledge as a second problem
Baby names solve a problem that ends before birth. What comes after?
Parents have questions — about development, sleep, nutrition, language, play. These questions change fast: what's relevant for a newborn barely matters three months later. What applies to a toddler is wrong for a school-age child.
PARU Parent Quiz is our attempt to provide orientation during these phases — not through a static knowledge database, but through an adaptive approach that asks where you are right now.
What drives us
We believe good tools for parents deserve the same quality as good tools for any other area of life. No cluttered interfaces. No noise. No dark patterns.
PARU is lean — and intentionally so. We add things when they're genuinely needed. And we remove things when they stop being useful.
That's the short version. We'll tell the longer one here over the coming months.
